Our Mission

Hawa Feminist Coalition is a non-governmental and non-profit feminist organization envisioned to achieve a country where women and girls are valued as equal beings among members of the community, enjoy all their rights on an equal footing with others, and live in dignity. Our key missions are:

To mobilize, and organize young women and girls in feminist solidarity to build a strong and visible feminist movement that can promote the safety, equality, justice, rights, and dignity of young women and girls in Somalia.
To raise awareness campaigns and bring up more voices that can speak out against the prevalent sexual and gender-based violence, including domestic violence, rape, and sexual abuse, against young women and girls in Somalia.
To advocate improvements in legal protection for women and girls and eliminate all harmful practices against women and girls, including domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, early marriage, FGM, etc.

We are the first and only feminist movement in Somalia working to promote the safety, equality, justice, rights and dignity of young women and girls in Somalia.
