Hawa Feminist Coalition uses sports as a transformative tool to combat sexual and gender-based violence, including domestic violence, rape, sexual abuse, FGM, discrimination, and harmful social norms affecting women and girls across Somalia. The program also builds girls’ confidence and leadership, supports psychosocial healing, and creates pathways for young women to participate in public and community life.
Hawa Feminist Coalition established a standalone program, Sports for Justice Somalia, with dedicated programmatic and operational structures, including a website, social media platforms, and a professional team of coaches, trainers, mentors, and community mobilizers.
