Hawa Feminist Coalition has released its Impact Report 2022–2025, highlighting four years of feminist movement-building, advocacy, survivor support, digital safety, menstrual dignity, creative activism, and sports for justice across Somalia.
The report presents Hawa Feminist Coalition’s key achievements and impact across its core programs, demonstrating its contribution to young women’s leadership, community transformation, policy influence, survivor-centered support, and safe spaces where Somali women and girls can organize, heal, lead, and claim their rights.
Between 2022 and 2025, Hawa Feminist Coalition mobilized 2,500+ young women into feminist movements, increased its membership base by 500%, established 75+ grassroots feminist groups, reached 3 million+ people through GBV awareness campaigns, and supported 75,000+ GBV survivors with MHPSS and referral support.
The report also highlights Hawa Feminist Coalition’s work in promoting sexual and reproductive health rights, including the production of 50,000 reusable sanitary pads and reaching 20,000 women with menstrual hygiene solutions. It also showcases the establishment of HabloCare, a women-led social enterprise producing affordable, eco-friendly reusable sanitary pads for girls and women in Somalia.
Through its Sports for Justice Somalia program, Hawa Feminist Coalition reached and engaged 3,000+ girls through sports outreach and supported 180+ young women through sports empowerment activities. The report further documents Hawa Feminist Coalition’s digital safety work, including training 172 feminist activists and leaders and reaching 900+ women with digital safety tips.
The Impact Report also reflects Hawa Feminist Coalition’s continued commitment to intersectional, youth-led, and survivor-centered feminist action. Its work prioritizes women and girls most affected by inequality, including IDPs, GBV survivors, adolescent girls, rural and low-income girls, young activists, refugees, minorities, and communities affected by conflict, displacement, drought, and social exclusion.
As Hawa Feminist Coalition looks ahead, it remains committed to building a stronger feminist future where every Somali woman and girl can live with dignity, equality, freedom, and power.
