Our 2022–2025 Impact Report Is Out: Celebrating Feminist Action and Change in Somalia

Hawa Feminist Coalition has released its Impact Report 2022–2025, highlighting four years of feminist organizing, advocacy, community empowerment, survivor support, digital safety, menstrual dignity, and sports for justice across Somalia.

From 2022 to 2025, Hawa Feminist Coalition strengthened its role as one of Somalia’s leading young women-led feminist movements. During this period, the organization mobilized more than 1,500 young women, reached over 3 million people through GBV awareness and advocacy campaigns, and provided support to approximately 75,000 GBV survivors, mainly from displaced and drought-affected communities.

The report also highlights Hawa Feminist Coalition’s work in promoting sexual and reproductive health rights, including the training of 300+ women and girls in reusable sanitary pad production, the production of 50,000 reusable pads, and the provision of menstrual hygiene solutions to 10,000 poor women from the vulnerable communities in Somalia.

Other key achievements include empowering 120 young women leaders through creative feminist expression, training 300+ girls through the Sports for Justice programme, building a network of 180+ young women athletes, and training 172 feminist activists on digital safety and online protection.

The report reflects Hawa Feminist Coalition’s continued commitment to building a strong, inclusive, and youth-led feminist movement where Somali women and girls can live with dignity, freedom, equality, and justice.
